Important information on the implementation of new Machinery Directive
Dear Customers,
On December 29, 2009, the revised Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC will take effect. We would therefore like to draw your attention to several changes which are required in regard to our products by revisions in the law, which we will put into practice, effective the date listed above.
Most importantly, as an HBC customer, you can be assured that our products completely fulfil all specifications of the new Machinery Directive. Some documentation procedures will be the only change in the future.
Our updated Declaration of Conformity will apply to all HBC products as the new Machinery Directive comes into effect. In our operating instructions, you will in the future find an appendix that will provide the respective Declaration of Conformity in the language you require. Please note that in accordance with the new directive this document will not include signatures or serial numbers.
It was originally planned that in conjunction with this new Machinery Directive the previously valid norm, EN 954-1, would be replaced by the new norm, EN ISO 13849-1:2008. The competent EU commission has now decided on an extension of EN 954-1. So, what does this mean for you? It means that for the time being, our product specifications will not change. HBC-radiomatic has however already completed preparations for the planned replacement of the EN 954-1 norm. If required, we can therefore provide you with product specifications for all current HBC products which would be in accordance with the new norm EN ISO 13849-1:2008, with an adapted documentation. We will of course keep you informed on the details as soon a date has been provided by the European Commission with respect to when the EN 954-1 norm will be replaced.
